If I was one of my daughters I would be so angry with me... Sunday I took the girls to an aquarium downtown. After seeing the boring fish and plants that were just sitting there my friend and I decided to go to lunch and then to the AMERICAN GIRL STORE. Wow What a place!! Anyway... We had lunch and after lunch I made the girls promise and pinkie swear that they would not ask me for anything or beg me or make a scene. We were just going to look.
If I was the kid in a huge toy store filled with dolls, clothes and everything else under the sun I would have had a fit. But I can honestly say they were great and followed through on there pinkie swear. They also came up with a list 10 feet long of what they would like for Christmas from the store. I think they will get a doll and maybe an outfit or two but that's where I draw the line. I am not spending $225.oo for a doll tree house. I can buy the wood and build a real one for that cost. Okay maybe not me for say build it but you get the point.
It's Wednesday by the way! The work week is 1/2 over and I am thrilled for this weekend to come. Were suppose to go to 6 Flags (yes again!!) and then see a couple of movies at the base theater. It's a great theater and cheap too! The food costs more then the ticket price. Go figure!!

Courtney still plays with her American Girl stuff, (we took one doll to the Kitt movie http://cmcurtin.blogspot.com/2008/07/movie-review-kit-kittredge-american.html) but not as much now.
But a couple of years ago, they wanted everything from the catalog, so I told them to write to Grandma, Grandpa and their uncles. They didn't think it was a big deal to spend $30 for a dress for a doll so we let them!
Emily loves her American Girls and now Anna kate is getting into them. How mean are you for taking them into the store & making them pinkie swear? You have just scarred them for life...just kidding! All Em got for Christmas last year was AG stuff. The store in Atlanta is nothign compared to Chicago or LA. I love teh Chicago store - I want to go to NY. Hope you are good.
