Our 1st Visit to Downtown Chicago

Yesterday we decided to venture out and catch the train to downtown. We figured it would be cheaper then driving/parking and sitting in traffic etc. Well the train ride was eventful. It took 21 stops and over an hour to reach downtown. After the train ride. (note to self bring activities for the kids next time!!) We walked around Navy Pier. It was an indoor and outdoor mall with a carnival on the pier etc. What a great place to spend the day. I would have been better just hubby and I walking around looking at the sites instead we had the complaint department with us. When I was a kid we used to go for long car rides on Sunday afternoons. Next time it will be hubby and I. They had a great children's museum that I will be bringing the girls back to in the future. We were short on time because we had to make the 6:30 train back to the Great Lakes area so we briefly looked at everything. Next time we plan a trip to the city we have to plan out time more wisely.
We did eat lunch at a restaurant that holds Chicago history. The "Burgor/Burgor" place. Not sure of the story behind it but it had burgers and hot dogs. If you are a baseball fan then I'm sure you know the story behind the restaurant. Something with a goat.
After returning back to Great Lakes we had dinner at a little diner and came home.
I can honestly say that the sleepy medication the doctor gave little kid does not work! We gave I to her 2 nights in a row and the nights were horrible. Hopefully there is a miracle out there waiting to be found for her! School starts in 20+ days and this kid cannot be up all night and keep us awake as well.
