Okay I have been a Navy wife for almost 15 years. In that time we have moved from San Diego to Virginia. Virginia to Florida. Florida to Tennessee. Tennessee back to Florida and just had our most recent move from Florida to the wonderful state of Illinois. We have had the occasional broken glass or scratch to a chair but nothing major. This move makes up for it!!! Not only was my washing machine smashed, my recliner broken, 2 legs on one of my kitchen chairs broken, my head board scratched but the ultimate OOPS is the packers left my entire storage unit in Florida and never loaded the boxes and things onto the truck.
Here is where it gets interesting.... the packers were un-loading the truck on Friday and said everything was here. I never checked the back storage area because I have been working my tail off. Last night I went into the storage unit and saw the door open. OMG I thought I was robbed!! I freaked out and called the Police. The did a report etc. Then after some further investigating and a friend sneaking into my old house (Which is scheduled for demolition any day.) I got a call saying the items are in Florida. BUT.... the boxes have been opened and who knows what was stolen? I'm so nervous to find out what's left.
My good Friend, Tammy is going to pick up my items tomorrow and let me know what's left. Please say a prayer to St. Anthony that all my Christmas decorations are still in tack. They are 98% Disney and very special to us.
I'll know what else was missing after my boxes arrive in another week. I can definitely tell you that someone with the packing company messed up bit time and they will pay for the replacement of everything. Hopefully this beginning will not be how our 3 years in IL will be??
